**Missions**:
BRS has an exciting opportunity for a dry bulk freight analyst to join its Athens office.
Main Responsibilities:
- Undertake in-depth analysis on the dry bulk market and trade flows to enhance BRS’s freight research capabilities
- Assisting in the preparation of client-focused dry bulk and freight market research reports
- Developing, maintaining and improving tools for data input and statistical verification
- Support the work of Dry Bulk brokers and the Dry Bulk Research team as required
- Undertaking individual research projects on dry bulk markets and trade flows
- Barry Rogliano Salles (BRS) is one of the world’s leading shipbrokers with over 160 years’ experience in international shipping. BRS has offices in China, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Dubai, Greece, Switzerland, Spain, France, Germany, United Kingdom, United States, Colombia, Ivory Coast Its shipbroking activity is principally focused on:
- Chartering broking between shipowners and shippers/industrial groups including FFAs.
- Newbuilding, Sale and Purchase broking involving ship construction and second hand vessels including ship financing, conversion projects and recycling.
**Profile**:
Academic Background:
- Graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, shipping, international affairs or related areas
- Masters degree is desirable
Key Competencies:
- Broad knowledge of dry bulk and / or freight markets, knowledge of grains markets would be an advantage
- Computer literate, excellent command of MS Office, Power Bi, knowledge of programming languages would be an advantage
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under time pressure
- Conscientious, very good eye for detail and quality control
- Strong communication skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English. Good level of French
**Experience**:
- Experience of commodity market analysis and / or analysing commodity trade flows
- Experience of drafting concise reports
- Experience of building predictive, mathematical models would be an advantage
