**Job Description**:
Job title: Intraday Trader

Reports to: Intraday Manager

Paris office - Intraday Trading Team

Position purpose
- Maximise the value of the EDF portfolio across all European intraday markets.
- Undertake detailed fundamental analysis of European intraday markets and further develop tools and processes used by the team.
- Develop the scope of the activity, its scale and profitability

Main responsibilities

This list is not exhaustive and may include other tasks assigned by the manager.
- Consistent with assigned trading responsibilities, conduct intraday electricity trading activities
- Maintain real-time understanding of EDFT’s intraday physical electricity position on the European electricity markets.
- Understand fundamental price drivers in the European intraday electricity markets.
- Adhere to EDFT trading procedures including trade logistics systems.
- Communicate and coordinate intraday trading activities with rest of intraday team and other teams.
- Identify trading opportunities on the electricity markets, devise new strategies, backtest them before implementation and execute trades as authorized
- Work closely with our data scientists and analysts in order to integrate into our strategies the relevant data needed to build trading models
- Participate to the automation of the activity
- Any other duties as directed by manager.

Experience required
- Understand the European electrical transmission system and the interconnections between the various European grids.
- Strong understanding of EDF system optimisation.
- Understand power plant operating principles.
- Fluent in English. A good working level in any other European languages (French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian) also appreciated

Technical requirements
- Developing skills: VBA, Python, Java, C# (a plus but not mandatory)

- Analytical, highly motivated with ability to work on own initiative.
- Good communicator and team player.
- Position requires flexibility in work hours and days due to market requirements
- One or two years of professional experience in the energy industry required
