We are seeking a highly trustworthy and proactive **Estate Manager** to assume responsibility for the day-to-day management and long-term care of this exceptional property. The Estate Manager will lead and coordinate a small, established team, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, service, and security are consistently met. This is a live-out position, though proximity to the estate is preferred. A vehicle can be provided for work-related duties, if required.
**Responsibilities**:
**Property Management & Maintenance**:
- Oversee all aspects of property maintenance, including buildings, grounds, infrastructure, and equipment
- Schedule and supervise repairs, renovations, and preventative maintenance
- Manage service contracts with external vendors (e.g., plumbers, electricians, security)
- Always ensure the security and safety of the estate
**Staff Management**:
- Directly manage and support the existing team, consisting of a live-in caretaker, a full-time housekeeper/cook, and a gardener
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment
- Schedule staff duties and ensure adequate coverage
- Potentially participate in the recruitment and training of new staff, if required in the future
**Financial Administration**:
- Manage household budgets and track expenses
- Process invoices and ensure timely payments
- Maintain accurate records of expenditures
**Household Operations**:
- Oversee the smooth running of the household, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and service
- Coordinate household schedules and arrangements
- Potentially assist with event planning and execution on the estate
**Communication & Reporting**:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Principal regarding estate matters
- Provide regular updates and reports on the status of the property and staff activities
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as an Estate Manager or in a similar senior property management/household management role, preferably within a private estate setting
- Strong understanding of property maintenance, vendor management, and household operations
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- High level of discretion, confidentiality, and trustworthiness is paramount
- Fluent in English and French is essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively, taking initiative to address issues and anticipate needs
- Valid driver's license (if a vehicle is required)
- Familiarity with basic accounting and budgeting principles
Work conditions
- **Location**: Private Estate near Fontainebleau (approximately 30 minutes) and Paris (approximately 1.5 hours)

A highly competitive compensation package, commensurate with experience and qualifications, will be offered, including comprehensive benefits.
Pay: 2,943.00€ - 3,085.00€ per month
