Technical Support Engineer

Universal Avionics International (UAI) is looking for a Technical Support Engineer for their European organization. This position will help UAI better serve their European OEM customers. UAI offers a sales and services division with local representatives to provide faster and more convenient support services in the region.

**Summary**

Universal Avionics International seeks an experienced avionics Technical Support Engineer, based in Vitrolles, to:

- Manage and technically support the commercial aviation activities in the Marseille region and more particularly at Dassault.
- Be the technical point of contact and manage the relations between Dassault and the teams of the Aerospace Division of the Group abroad, in program load.
- Consolidate the excellent relations with the customers in order to ensure their confidence in the company.
- Participate in the preparation, conduct and operation of ground and flight tests of on-board systems on civil aircraft, by working on test benches, aircraft simulators.
- Assure the follow-up of flight tests and carry out integration tests for the validation of our EFVS avionic systems.

This position requires a person who has a strong affinity for customer engagement, and solid expertise and experience in the technical support of complex avionics solutions. This is a highly cross-cultural role, and the Technical Support Engineer will work as part of a dynamic international team.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities.**
- Support technical activities with Dassault and potentially Airbus Helicopters.
- Support the integration, installation, and upgrade of the group equipment.
- Technically support flight tests.
- Analyze the flight test results and communicate problems and solutions to the customer's engineering team and experts from the company.
- Follow the configuration of the aircraft and company equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned.

**Competencies**
- Extensive knowledge of Dassault company and their connected services organization.
- Understanding Dassault processes and culture is a significant advantage.
- Strong technical background, preferably experienced with civil avionics programs at a technical lead capacity.
- Ability to work top-down with all hierarchical levels of the client.
- Must exhibit cultural sensitivity under all circumstances.
- Willingness to travel abroad (to U.S. and Israel).
- Good “people skills.”
- Fluent in English and French.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Prior knowledge of Universal Avionics and/or Elbit Systems product knowledge would be of great benefit. Training on company product lines will nonetheless be required after hiring.
- Minimum of 3 years directly related experience in the technical & program areas, focused on Aeronautics, Electronics, and Avionics.
- In-depth knowledge of aeronautical processes
- Experience in project management and working in a matrix organization

**Required Education and/or Experience**
- Engineering degree preferably focused on aeronautics or electronics.
- Experience in support or customer service.
- Background in aviation is mandatory.

**Computer Skills**
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience working with Salesforce a plus.

**Language Skills**
- Ability to speak and present effectively.
- Good communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Strong listening skills.

**Reasoning Ability**
- Fully capable to work independently and to practically solve situations and problems.
- Independent and self-motivated.
- Ability to define situations, collect data and facts to draw appropriate conclusions.
