Group Leader - In Vitro Biology
- Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) (M/F/D)

TASKS:
Reporting to the VP, head of the AMR/TB «
_In Vitro_ Biology » department in Lyon, you will be in charge of the following tasks:

- Play a key scientific role in proposing, developing and executing multiple modality agnostic projects in the field of AMR by supporting, participating in or leading these activities, carried out by cross-functional and cross-site research teams. Interact successfully with potential and current partners, to understand project goals and effectively propose research solutions.
- Maintain a cutting-edge awareness of technical developments and scientific knowledge to improve project performance and to enable your role in proposing technology developments within the Department and within AMR at Evotec.
- Manage a research team of associates and scientists, while collaborating in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced discovery-oriented environment, and at the interface of several departments and sites. The goal is to develop and execute partnered research projects, insuring the delivery of high quality and timely data and develop capabilities within the team in response to new business opportunities.
- Be responsible for supporting existing activities as well as establishing novel _In Vitro_ assays, know-how and capabilities within the AMR department at Evotec Lyon in response to new business opportunities, working efficiently with other scientists within the company and/or external platforms.
- Successfully present Evotec externally to potential new clients and collaborators.
- Travel to key meetings in the field and represent Evotec expertise in AMR Disease area and interact with current and potential partners

EDUCATION:

- PhD in microbiology, infectious disease, or related discipline

EXPERIENCE:

- At least 5 years pharmaceutical industry, biotech and/or CRO experience required

- Agile forward-thinking individual, comfortable with change and able to deal with ambiguity.
- Demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial skills in leading and developing in vitro microbiology activities with her/his counterparts in the in vivo pharmacology, chemistry and DMPK departments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, works well independently and as a group leader, and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to organize and communicate complex scientific concepts and data sets in a clear and concise manner to key stakeholders/clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage collaborators and ensure regular training of colleagues in the in vitro microbiology field.
- Skilled in designing research projects including short-term and long-term experimental plans, needs assessment, planning, studies follow up (timelines, costs, deliverables).

LANGUAGES:

- English: written / read / spoken is required
- French: written / read / spoken is a plus
