**About the role**:

- Scientific objectives - results and issues:

- The scientific objective is to contribute to the management of geo-distributed infrastructures built on the Cloud2IoT continuum. This includes characterizing and describing Cloud2IoT infrastructures via an ADL.
- The main obstacles to overcome are:

- Define methodologies and approaches to extract features from the Cloud2IoT continuum.
- Define an Architecture Description Language (ADL) at Run Time.
- Define and implement the modeling and synchronization mechanisms of the digital twin in Thing'in.
- The main expected results are:

- Model ready to be used in Thing'in.
- Implementation of the digital twin of the infrastructure: a prototype synchronizing the Cloud2IoT continuum with a digital twin managed in Thing'in.

**Additional information**:
This thesis focuses on the management of geo-distributed infrastructures, even massively geo-distributed ones, to meet the needs related to the growing complexity of services relying on the Internet of Things and more generally the management of cyber-physical universes. They are at the crossroads of technologies such as Augmented/Virtual/Mixed Reality, Edge Computing, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things and Digital Twins. The cyber-physical universes are linked to another field that is currently very visible: the metaverse.

You will be integrated into a dynamic and experienced team in the field of Device Management (DM), which also implements AI and Digital Twin techniques and develops FLAMINGO the federative platform for the DM of the IoT. You will be required to collaborate with DM experts as well as researchers contributing to the Thing'in digital twin platform.
