Firalis Molecular Precision (FMP) is a leading biotech services provider dedicated to supporting the research of biotech and pharmaceutical companies, academic research and healthcare organizations, by offering advanced multiomics solutions (genomics, proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics) for clinical trials and biomarker discovery. Beyond its multi-omics approach, analytical capabilities and scientific expertise, FMP is an end-to-end partner offering a set of complementary services: biobank infrastructure, assay development, bioanalytical testing, data analysis and production facilities to streamline and accelerate its customers' Research projects. Located in Huningue, the company's head office comprises over 2000 m2 of R&D and production laboratories.
To strengthen our Business Development team, we are looking for a:
**CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER**
**Responsibilities**:
Under the supervision of the CEO, your main missions will be to:
- **Boost visibility of FMP CRO service offerings and IVD products**: develop and implement strategies to increase the visibility and awareness of our CRO services and IVD products in the market. Identify target markets and customer segments and create marketing initiatives to promote our offerings effectively.
- **Supervise, coach, recruit, and fully manage the Business Development team**: provide leadership, guidance, and support to the Business Development team. Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to achieve business targets.
- **Promote CRO services to pharmaceutical companies, biotechs, and CROs**: build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients and key decision-makers in the target market. Identify customer needs, present our CRO services, and negotiate contracts (WO, SOW, MSA, CDA) to secure new business opportunities.
- **Develop external communications and social media**: collaborate with the marketing and communication teams to develop effective external communication strategies. Create compelling content, oversee social media presence, and ensure consistent messaging across various channels.
- **Attend workshops, trade fairs, and networking events**: represent the company at industry events, workshops, conferences, and trade fairs. Network with potential clients, partners, and key stakeholders to expand the company's reach and foster strategic collaborations.
- **Keep track and report regularly on cumulated business and market intelligence**: monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback. Provide regular reports to the CEO and the company's Board, highlighting business performance, market opportunities, and challenges.
- **Set up SMART objectives for yourself and your team**: collaborate with the CEO to establish specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) objectives for both yourself and the Business Development team. Track progress and take necessary actions to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- **Report to CEO and the company Board regularly and systematically**: provide comprehensive reports to the CEO and the company's Board, presenting key performance indicators, business development activities, and strategic recommendations. Ensure effective communication and alignment with the leadership team.
**Your profile**:
- Scientific Background with a bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
- Additional business degree in management, business, or a similar discipline (MBA, EMBA, etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent presentation skills in both written and oral forms, particularly in English.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the life science industry.
- Successful track record in commercializing life science services.
- Any experience of IVD/Dx product launch would be an asset.
- Scientific skills in biology, such as proteomics or genomics, would be an asset.
- Fluency in English and French. German language skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) is a plus.
