The "Laboratory of Mechanisms and Therapy of Genetic Brain Diseases”, directed by Dr Michela Deleidi at the Imagine Institute in Paris (15) is looking for an assistant engineer for 24 months (minimum). Imagine Institute Imagine Institute, on the Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital campus in Paris, is an interdisciplinary biomedical research centre, providing excellent core facilities for genomics, cell imaging, and bioinformatics together with creating animal models of human disease (mice, Zebrafish, and Drosophila). Additionally, Imagine strongly emphasizes translational aspects and innovative therapeutic options, including gene therapies. Imagine, supported by a private Foundation, is affiliated with INSERM (French national institute for medical research, U1163), Université Paris Cité and AP-HP(Paris Public Hospitals Group). As a research and healthcare Institute, Imagine focuses on a wide variety of genetic diseases, studying all aspects from basic research to translational medicine with an ultimate aim of developing new approaches to therapy including gene therapy and gene editing. The Institute includes over 600 staff members in 28 laboratories organized in integrated care and research programs addressing genetics, immunology and infectious diseases, haematology, nephrology, developmental defects, neurosciences and bioinformatics. The "Laboratory of Mechanisms and Therapy of Genetic Brain Diseases”, directed by Dr Michela Deleidi at Imagine Institute in Paris 15 is looking for an assistant engineer. The laboratory's projects aim at dissecting the molecular mechanisms of genetic brain diseases, with a focus on the link between rare mendelian diseases and age-associated disorders. The laboratory focuses on unique and shared molecular pathways underlying inflammatory, infectious, and neurodegenerative diseases. Another line of research in our laboratory aims at investigating the risk/resilience factors of neuronopathic lysosomal storage diseases. To this end, we develop models with human pluripotent stem cells and long-term cultures of organoids combined with single cell-omics to identify the role of disease related genetic variants and validate targets with diagnostic and therapeutic potential. **MISSION AND FUNCTIONS** - Performing maintenance of iPSCs - Implementing organoid differentiation protocols and perform initial characterization - Developing and conduct experiments in molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry - Implementing imaging techniques (for example, confocal microscopy) - Lab management responsibilities including purchasing laboratory reagents, monitoring consumable spending, negotiating with vendors for the purchase of lab equipment and bulk quantity items Weekend on-call duty may be required as needed. **REQUIREMENTS** - and goal-oriented personality. Fluency in scientific English. Masters level, Engineering School. **POSITION** Location: Institut des Maladies Génétiques Imagine - 24 Boulevard du Montparnasse - 75015 Paris
