- **purpose and key **accountabilities**
**Role purpose**
- Contribute to and be part of the Group HS&E department, with specific focus on the day to day operations of health, safety and environment (HSE) in the country and with links into wider European and Global geographies:
- To support the Country Representative/HSE Global Manager ensuring that an appropriate environmental and health & safety management is maintained in all business areas compliant with any existing or new HSE legislation: defining and driving the implementation of the local HSE Plan of Activities (risk assessments, inspections, ) through a good engagement with the external H&S services providers, ensuring they comply with the their legal obligations, and providing on-site customer support to the country staff
- To support the Country teams to ensure ISO 14001 certification in retained and ISO 45001 alignment is kept
- To manage and support external audits for ISO 14001 across Colt France locations/operations
**Key accountabilities**:
- Support Colt’s HSE Governance model and ensure countries are progressing / maintaining ISO 14001 certification and alignment to ISO45001 in an integrated manner within Colt France entity.
- Ensure that changes to the integrated management system (IMS) are implemented effectively within the country control. And details of progress are covered during management reviews
- Support the HSE administrative tasks needed locally
- Provide day to day health and safety advisory support to staff within that country regardless of business area.
- Support the risk assessments procedures conducted by any external H&S services providers or conduct them (when applicable) for French locations as the law requires, actions followed throughout till closure and all records kept. (e.g. Document Unique d'Évaluation des Risques (DUER))
- Monitoring the environmental aspects applicable in country on behalf of the Country Representative and contribute to the formulation of global and local preventative/corrective measures
- Contribute to the formulation of global and local HSE procedures and goals.
- Ensure up to date HSE documents in conjunction with local country legislation and HSE integrated management procedures.
- Ensure records of work carried out are maintained accurately and on time.
- Record health, safety and environmental incidents and ensure its investigation is completed, ensuring that the Emergency Response Procedure is followed.
- Ensure completion of the Emergency Preparedness activities (emergency plans are kept up to date and tested periodically, emergency teams are defined, updated and trained, informative documents are up to date )
- Manage and implement monitoring HSE site inspections/inspection programmes, including annual internal HSE audits according to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and our integrated management system procedures.
- Undertake formal HSE legal impact assessments for France, extending remit where requested to other countries of operation in order to ensure fully legal compliance and raising any potential risk to local and corporate stakeholder in accordance with existing procedures.
- Contribute to the HSE communication/culture change programme and web portal content
- Supervise the completion of e-learning modules released by HSE Group as a part of required HSE training;
- Work closely with other H&S Advisors to deliver against Group and local HSE goals.
- Flexible Working - Occasional opportunities for travel.
**Essential requirements [skills, experience, qualifications]**:
- **Experience**
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as H&S Advisor/Technician in an external H&S service provider or an internal H&S team or in an Environmental position.
- Comfortable talking to different groups from different cultures and backgrounds, interacting with local authorities, new comers, visitors etc..

- **Qualifications**:
- Must possess at least an University Degree together with a Master in Health and Safety.
- Proficiency in English, written and spoken. Technical writing is needed.
- Be computer literate, confident user of office including Excel (formulas), Word (formatting, hyperlinks and bookmarks), Acrobat writer (online forms).
