**About the Role**:
The Product Owner manages the product backlog for ASIC Firmware/Embedded Software development in R&D. This will include tracking all the tasks associated with new project launch, features, changes to existing features, handling defects and bugs to be fixed.
The Product Owner will be the communication link between the Technical Program Manager ASIC and the Software team.
The Product Owner focuses on internal inbound needs and is the key to translating the Technical Program management’s roadmap to a successful deliverable in terms of feature set and lead time.
The Product Owner works closely with the firmware integration team to ensure deliverables meet expected requirements and quality.
**What you’ll do**:
- Detailing Product Requirements : With the help of the Software Architect and the development team, translating stakeholder needs and project strategy from Technical Program Management as defined in the project roadmap into actionable requirements and tasks.
- Prioritizing Development Work : Creating and maintaining the project backlog, prioritising based on the project roadmap, and lead time considerations.
- Accepting or Rejecting Completed Development Work : Ensuring work in progress meets requirements through acceptance criteria, guiding changes as needed before and after completion.
- Working Closely with Development Team : Guiding the development team on how to build features and interactions using domain knowledge and setting development priorities in accordance with the product roadmap.
- Ensuring Development Process Compliance : Collaborating with the development team leads to ensure the process is followed, and deadlines are met.

- Focus: the ability to prioritize and manage the project backlog and avoid distractions.
- Problem solver mindset: the ability to identify problems and propose solutions that align with the project roadmap and strategy.
- Risk: clarifies any ambiguity as much as possible with the Technical Program Management team otherwise using best judgment to resolve.
- Results evaluation: the ability to measure and analyse the outcomes and impacts of the project development and delivery.
**Knowledge**
- Able to demonstrate strong domain knowledge within real-time embedded developments.
- Knowledge about hardware-software integration.
- Knowledge of software design and implementation processes.
- Exposure to ASIC design process.
- Knowledge of digital video and audio domains is desirable.
