TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.
**What your background should look like**:
- Strategy
- Develop & maintain Technology Road map for Termination Technology applied to DIN RAIL Solution
- Develop the Engineering Strategy for Termination Technology, aligned with the overarching strategy of DIN RAIL Solutions
- Execution
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) for DIN RAIL Solutions with focus on key AFG
- Ideation and drive of Leap projects
- Drive E2E connections Support the global team in Sustaining activities, especially with legacy products from Entrelec portfolio
- Input to, and support part cost reduction and part compliance
- Develop Simulation (mechanical, thermal, electrical) competencies in the team to an expert level
- Work closely with PMO to ensure proper execution of NPI
- Create collaboration platform with global DIN RAIL Team according to the SV footprint
- Design responsibilities: create/maintain fit, form & function of parts
- Work within TEOA-E and use the processes and tools therein and other TE best practices (Lean, DFSS, etc.)
- Ensure product environmental compliance according to TE policies
- Engineering support to Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality
- Engineering responsibility for development, industrialization, and release of new products
- Develop design mindset for sustainability
- Interaction and collaboration at various levels with Product Managers, Customers & Suppliers
- Drive DFMEA to ensure that product performance is preserved throughout product life cycle
- Engineering data integrity within TE
- Representation of industry standards bodies where relevant
- Identify local partners to develop new technologies
- Talent
- Lead the local team and report to DIN RAIL Eng Mgr
- Support Saint Priest Legal Representative with specific tasks in the building, with focus on EHS
- Develop succession plan for Team Lead Advanced Engineering
- Develop skillset matrix to support the Engineering strategy
