Characterization of New Molecules for The Treatment

The “Molecular therapeutic approaches for genetic diseases and cancer” team belongs to the Oncolille Institute. Oncolille is a newly built Institute (2 years), which has all the equipment to accomplish the project. This institute is located on the Lille University Hospital campus. Lille (French city). Lille is located 50 minutes by train from Paris and less than two hours by train from London, Brussels or Amsterdam.

The postdoctoral researcher will work within a consortium funded by the Vaincre la mucovisdose association. The project aims to develop therapeutic solutions for patients suffering from genetic disease and in particular from cystic fibrosis linked to a nonsense mutation.The missions of the recruited person will be to characterize at least from a cellular and molecular point of view new molecules activating readthrough. This will involve cell culture, analysis at the RNA level (RT-PCR) and at the protein level (Western-blot, IHC) of CFTR, measure of the functional rescue, toxicity assessment and determination of the mode of action of the molecules before studying their in vivo effect in small animals.

- The desired profile is a post-doctoral researcher who is highly motivated to invest in this project and- with expertise in analyzing CFTR channel expression (Western-blot, IHC, Ussing chamber, etc...)
- with solid knowledge in molecular and cellular biology, particularly in aspects of RNA translation and metabolism
- with experience in working with mice and qualification to carry out animal experimentation
- organized, autonomous, hard-working person with team spirit.
