Chauffeur

**Duties**:
The incumbent serves as administrative clerk and chauffeur for the Office of Regional Affairs at U.S. Embassy Paris. The incumbent is responsible for administrative aspects of record-keeping, procurements, logistics, contractor services, within the city and surrounding areas. The incumbent is also responsible for safely operating an unarmored and/or fully armored vehicle (FAV) to transport the Counselor for Regional Affairs, and all USDH (US Direct Hires) and TDY (Temporary Duty) personnel for the Office of Regional Affairs (ORA) within the city and the surrounding areas. Ensures that the vehicle is in clean and serviceable condition and performs minor preventive maintenance.

**Qualifications and Evaluations**:

**EXPERIENCE**: at least three years of professional driving experience is required.

**JOB KNOWLEDGE**: Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations. Knowledge of in-country travel routes and areas. General awareness of the general political climate in the country related to protests, demonstrations, and riots. Knowledge of Paris' civil infrastructure to include schools, hospitals, police stations, and third-country Embassies.

Completion of Secondary School or Local Mandatory Schooling and received high school diploma required.

**LANGUAGE (THESE WILL BE TESTED)**: English: Limited Knowledge required. French: Good Working Knowledge required.

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES Optional (THESE MAY BE TESTED)**: Must be able to diagnose and handle preventive maintenance and first-echelon automotive repairs. Ability to detect vehicle defects and report them immediately to authorities concerned. Must quickly and calmly evaluate risks and alternative actions always assuring the maximum safety of the passengers. Must have basic computer skills to maintain reports and for communication purposes. **Must have a valid drivers' licenses (permis B and permis C).**

**SALARY**: the **annual gross salary includes**: the profit-sharing allowance, the vacation allowance, the bonus allowance and the “Comité d’Entreprise” allowance.

**MEAL TICKETS**: Meal tickets have a face value of EUR 8.25/day. 60% of the daily amount is paid by the U.S. Government. An employee contribution of EUR 3.30 per ticket will be deducted in payroll. The number of meal tickets is limited to 202 workdays per year.

**TRANSPORTATION**:Employees are eligible for a reimbursement of 50% of the cost of public transportation passes purchased for commuting purposes.

**HOLIDAYS**: The U.S. Missions in France observe eleven U.S. holidays per year and up to ten French holidays.

**For EFMs**, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
