We are looking for a Marine Cargo Underwriter, based in Paris.

Our team is committed to provide comprehensive, tailor-made Cargo insurance to clients worldwide. With one of the largest and most experienced networks of Marine underwriters, claims professionals and risk consultants in the business, we are well positioned to deliver the solutions a global economy demands.

**The Impact You Will Have**
Reporting to the Regional Head of Marine Mediterranean & Africa Region and based in Paris, you will be part of the wider Marine Line of Business Team with offices around the Globe. Cargo is a core line of business within our Marine portfolio and this is a business development role with a focus on Multinational Programs.

You will underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet Marine Line of Business targets. You will also be negotiating participation, pricing and terms and conditions. You will be expected to take ownership of accounts and clients, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new brokers and clients.

**Some of your specific responsibilities could include**
- Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets
- Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with brokers
- Underwrite Multinational Programs in line with Line of Business governance framework
- Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception
- Ensure utilisation of global pricing tools as well as accurate policy documentation issued to broker
- File maintenance - ensure file is established (whether electronic or paper) and maintained for each risk and transaction handled
- Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business
- To the market and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders

**What You’ll Bring to the Role**
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Cargo Underwriter, Marine Broker or Risk Manager in the marine sector
- Solid understanding of policy administration life cycle, information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control and cancellation
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to create relationships and communicate clearly at all levels and with a wide range of people
- Outstanding Analytical skills
- Fluent English skills
