Zendar is hiring a software engineer with a strong mathematical background.

**About Zendar**:
Zendar is creating a high-resolution radar imaging system that has resolution similar to Lidar, allowing cars to see in inclement weather. We want to change the role of radar in the autonomous driving sensor stack and demonstrate that radars can take on many of the functions of Lidar at a much lower cost and in all weather conditions. Zendar's technology fuses data streams from multiple sensors to build a more accurate scene and utilizes machine learning to predict likely environmental scenarios and provide situational awareness.

Zendar was founded in the San Francisco Bay area, at the very heart of one of the most advanced regions in the development of autonomous vehicles technologies. We also opened an office in South Germany to capitalize on the decades of experience in the automotive radar industry of the area, and are setting up a new office in Paris.

Zendar has a diverse and dynamic team of electrical, mechanical, RF, algorithms and software engineers with deep background in sensing technology. Zendar is backed by Tier-1 VCs, has raised more than $25M in funding and has established strong partnerships with industry leaders. Our team has more than doubled in number over the last year as our technology has gained traction in the automotive and agriculture industries.

We are looking for a Software Research Engineer at the interface of our R&D and software teams. In this position, you will contribute to the development of new radar processing concepts and features, and will help evaluate their performances on real scenarios data. You will be responsible for designing product-oriented algorithms and implementing production-level real-time code. This role will have the opportunity to write high-performance, real-time software and develop very strong software engineering skills.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Proficient in Python and modern C++ (we use C++14)
- Strong mathematical skills, most importantly linear algebra, statistics and optimization
- Some familiarity with signal processing and computer vision
- Bac+5 general degree, with a specialization in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Familiarity with professional software development tools, such as source control (git), unit testing, Linux environment
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with sensor data (e.g. camera, lidar, radar, IMU/GPS or other automotive sensors) and/or sensor fusion
- Experience with CUDA or GPU programming
- Experience in machine learning and deep neural network
