**Duties**:
The Mailroom Clerk receives, dispatches, sorts, and distributes mail from multiple sources. These include but are not limited to local and international mail, Diplomatic Post Office (DPO) mail, diplomatic pouch material, and commercial courier services. The incumbent spends a large percentage of the time serving customers at the Mailroom service window. The incumbent is supervised by the Mailroom Supervisor/Assistant Mailroom Supervisor with overall supervision by a designated IMO employee.

**Qualifications and Evaluations**:
- Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: at least one year of experience in customer care, office assistance, or clerical work.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: knowledge of standard office practices required
- Education Requirements:
Completion of Secondary School or Local Mandatory Schooling (no diploma required).
- Evaluations:
LANGUAGE (THESE WILL BE TESTED): English and French: Good Working Knowledge required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Good organizational skills, thoroughness and accuracy in processing documentation, ability to work well in a team environment. Must have user knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Must maintain a courteous and professional demeanor and possess excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work independently on a routine basis. Must have a valid driver’s license for (Permis B). Must be willing to work flexible hours, if required. Must be able to lift 70 pounds and safely move up to 250 pounds with assistance from coworkers or use of mechanical devices.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in France may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
**SALARY**: the **annual gross salary includes**:
- the profit sharing allowance,
- the vacation allowance,
- the bonus allowance
- and the “Comité d’Entreprise” allowance.
**MEAL TICKETS**: Meal tickets have a face value of EUR 8.25/day. 60% of the daily amount is paid by the USG. An employee contribution of EUR 3.30 per ticket will be deducted by CGFS through the FSN payroll system. The number of meal tickets is limited to 202 workdays per year.
**TRANSPORTATION**:The Mission provides a transportation allowance to employees who are scheduled to work at least 17.5 hours per week are eligible for a reimbursement of 50% of the cost of public transportation passes purchased for commuting purposes. Employees who are scheduled to work less than 17.5 hours per week are eligible for a prorated reimbursement of the cost of public transportation passes purchased for commuting purposes. Proration is based on the number of hours worked in a week compared to half a full-time workweek, i.e., 17.5 hour
**HOLIDAYS**: The U.S. Missions in France observe eleven U.S. holidays per year and up to ten French holidays.
