Composite Design Engineer

Role Summary
Lead Engineer required to utilise strong experience in aircraft interior design, specifically seating design, to deliver product development projects.

Dimension of Function
Lead Engineer will be responsible for developing composite material solutions for aircraft interiors, particularly focusing on seat structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Contacts
Lead Engineer will lead mechanical design team and will be focal point of communication with customer and suppliers related to mechanical design aspect.

Language
Proficient in French and English Language

Area of Responsibility
- Develop complex composite design concepts and mechanisms, BOMs, detailed design of seating components and lead successful design integration to ensure customer/airframe regulatory requirements are met.
- Accountable for checking and validating composite design deliverables produced within design organisation throughout product lifecycle.
- Lead design reviews and ensure on-time delivery of engineering milestones.
- Works with Design and manufacturing team regarding design and refurbishment of Seating parts.
- Should be able to work on Layout of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA). Prefer knowledge of Ergonomics and Aerospace standards
- To generate composite-related structural designs that are required for the project.
- To ensure designs are of best practices and compliant with requirements from relevant standards.
- To interact closely with engineers from other disciplines to achieve optimised ‘producible’ designs within the stipulated project schedule.
- To support the composite tooling design and manufacturing process.
- To deliver presentations to the customers and certification authorities as required.
- To support craft’s prototyping and production activities.
- Should Create design guidelines and best practices for aggregate integration
- Track and highlight key risks and mitigation mechanisms
- Guide team for debugging support, risk mitigation ensuring Lean design methodology.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering team to meet project Milestone
- Support ITCM, PDR and CDR when required
- Responsible of Composite design engineering deliverables

Knowledge / Experience
- Experience of Aerospace seating design & aircraft assembly line.
- Good knowledge on composite material selection & manufacturing process.
- Good knowledge on creation of Guidelines, Project Lean Design Roadmap
- Experience in developing the templates and standards to be used in the Industrial Process & innovative solutions.
- Knowledge of Aerospace design standards
- Good Understanding of Industrial assembly for Aerospace manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in use of various modules of CATIA V5, ENOVIA & Smarteam is preferable.
