Job Function: Legal & Compliance and ESG The role:
We have a growing inhouse Corporate Counsel role initially covering for parental for 6-7 months, depending on the start date, ideally starting in May 2025, based in our Paris office in Saint Ouen.
To ensure further growth and continued support of the company, we are looking for an Interim Legal Counsel based in Saint Ouen, Paris. This role is a unique opportunity to work in several jurisdictions with a focus on France and the Nordics.
You are responsible for advising the business on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters and structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions. You will work closely with other Regional, General and Legal Counsels located at the other SoftwareOne subsidiaries. You will work directly with the business on strategic deals, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Support of all legal matters in French and English within SoftwareOne’s subsidiary in France & the Nordics and all legal matters in French within SoftwareOne’s subsidiary in Belgium and Luxembourg;
- Full range of legal matters with a focus on software licensing and IT services agreements;
- Reviewing and negotiating licensing agreements and international supplier, partner and customer contracts;
- Coordination of legal relationships with external lawyers and consultants;
- Global day-to-day legal business such as documentation and contract management;
- Support our Sales, Finance, Procurement and HR organizations.

What we need to see from you:

- Legal qualification with excellent academic credentials;
- Consistent track record in an international law firm or as an In-house Counsel in the legal department of a company, an IT and/or listed company is an advantage;
- Strong written and oral communication skills in French and English; further languages (such as Italian) are an advantage;
- Pragmatic and commercial problem solver, ambitious, and hardworking to further shape the legal function;
- Experience in compliance, GDPR, data security, and intellectual property matters is required;
- Hands-on project management experience, including excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to handle a large number and variety of projects, working independently and often in not structured environments;
- A teammate and consensus builder with strong people skills and a good sense of humour who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business clients at all levels throughout the organization;
- Inquisitive and pro active
- Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity;
- Able to prioritize and strike a fair balance between the legal and business reality;- Confident individual with a focus on continuous improvement.
