**Your Mission**

**Project 1: Data Extraction from CAD Models to Enable Machine Learning Workflows**

**Project 2: Clustering of 3D CAD Model**

This internship focuses on developing machine learning models to effectively encode and decode 3D CAD models. The primary goal is to extract robust data embeddings from CAD data, reducing the complexity of representation while preserving meaningful characteristics. These embeddings will allow the representation of CAD models in a compact space, facilitating downstream tasks using clustering of similar models. The project aims to identify and group similar CAD models based on their shared attributes, enabling improved organization and accessibility of large datasets. The intern will also explore methods to enhance the generalization of the clustering approach across diverse datasets, ensuring its scalability and applicability in real-world scenarios.

**Project 3: Machine Learning for Automated Image Comparison**

Using an AI model or training one to automate quality assurance tasks, specifically image regression testing for CAD software. Using a test image database, develop models to detect and quantify visual differences in outputs. This project focuses on reducing manual QA efforts by identifying significant regressions and clustering acceptable variations, leveraging unsupervised and semi-supervised learning approaches if needed.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct literature reviews on machine learning techniques for CAD-oriented problems.
- Select and implement state-of-the-art machine learning architectures for testing across projects.
- Explore strategies to improve generalization, efficiency, and automation
- Compile findings into comprehensive reports and propose methodological improvements.

**Your Profile**
- Currently enrolled in a **BAC+5 or BAC+6 program** in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in machine learning concepts, including self-supervised, semi-supervised, and transfer learning techniques.
- Familiarity with CAD concepts, especially Boundary Representation (BRep) formats or image-based QA, is a plus.
- Proficient in Python and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, is a plus
- Motivated, resourceful, and comfortable with open-ended research challenges.
- Strong communication skills and a good command of English.

**Location and Duration**
- **Location**: Sophia Antipolis, or Lyon France. To be discussed during the interview
- **Duration**: 5-6 months, starting in early 2025.
