As an **SRE Data Systems Engineer, **you will build tools and services that support data engineers, data analysts, data scientists and ML engineers along their whole development cycle from exploring and analyzing data or setting up experiments to putting into production and monitoring complex data pipelines. **What You’ll Do**: - Test, deploy and maintain the platform that allow users to have access to computing resources through customizable containers that interact with Criteo’s offline computing datacenters. - Provide a Criteo’s Jupyter notebook platform where users can run their notebooks to explore data and develop and experiment with ML models. - Provide the interfaces to access Criteo’s analytics engines and the tools to develop, run and deploy their transformations into production data pipelines. - Maintain and improve Criteo’s metadata search and discovery tool, that scrapes all Criteo data systems and extracts documentation, lineage relationships, resource consumption reports and data quality metrics. - Work along data experts and ML engineers of Criteo to understand their development workflows and provide tools and services that help them accelerate their velocity and the reliability of the systems they deploy into production **Who You Are**: - Strong knowledge of statically compiled languages, preferably on the JVM (Scala, Java) - Fluent in one or more scripting languages, preferably Python - Strong understanding of the UNIX development environment. - You have some understanding of the big data ecosystem and SQL. Practical experience on writing or maintaining ETL systems is a plus. - A self-motivated, highly skilled engineer unafraid to tackle the complex and ever willing to understand and automate the mundane - An excellent oral and written communicator, passionate about interacting with other engineers to help them understand and use your systems and integrate their feedback into future versions of it - Rigorous about automating and documenting processes and systems to improve day-to-day operations and help on-board new team members and users - Prepared to be part of an on-call rotation supporting your team's systems **Bonus**: - You have some experience on container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) - You have some experience with Jupyter Notebooks - Some experience in UI development will be a plus.
