**Qualifications**:
This position requires an experienced Lead Engineer capable of leading complex projects from concept development through product validation.

**Some Key Success Factors**:

- In-depth understanding of Fuel cell compressor technology
- Translate customer needs into new product designs that meet requirements
- Lead a team of engineers in design, analysis and overall development of the product and specific components/aspects of the product including:

- Rotor dynamics & bearing systems
- Thermal and mechanical stress management
- Aerodynamics performance
- High speed electric machine & electronic component integration
- Seals, fittings, joints and other product components
- Software integration
- End to End Product Ownership, meeting all electrical compressor functional requirements (Performance, Reliability, Quality, Costs & Timing) to meet fuel stack specs: Matching, Gap analysis, technical offer, Design, APQP, Simulation, Validation, Release of the product.
- New product introduction, working with Program Management & Product Assurance teams.
- Work with Program management & Integrated Supply Chain to select suppliers and plan procurement to produce new design for test/validation.
- Lead workstream with Manufacturing engineer on design for manufacture.
- Plan test & validation hardware needs with team. Ensure all parts, tooling, instrumentation and services are available to meet test requirements & timing
- Interface with internal teams, customer and external vendors throughout program. Generate reports & documentation as required.
- Direct and main Customer interface for launch & new incoming request.
- Manage & mentor engineers on your team to ensure successful project completion.
- Lead cross-functional activities including new process ownership & tools deployment, in pursuit of increased flexible & agile multi-skilled engineers inside the team (under oversight of Chief Engrs & Engineering Excellence)
- Support the hiring process, decision, on-boarding.
- Lead team member performance, evaluations, recognition, and support talent development in coordination with functional matrix
- Ensure Baseline management
- Good documentation and communication skills are essential.

**Basic Qualifications**:

- B.S. Mechanical or other Engineering degree or equivalent
- Minimum 6 years work experience developing mechanical/ Mecatronic devices/components/systems
- Experience of 1 year managing a team
- Experience of 4 years with product design and validation testing

**Additional Qualifications**:

- Technical expertise (M.S., PhD or work experience) in some facet of engineering related to electrical compressor — fuel cell stack, rotordynamics, thermo-mechanical analysis, Fuel cell compressor matching/performance simulation
- Basic knowledge of electric machine fundamentals
- Basic knowledge of software for electric machine
- Work experience developing products in the automotive industry
- Basic understanding of internal combustion engines and turbochargers
- Ability to work independently in fast paced development environment
- Language: French, English, & German is a clear plus.
