It will rely on strategic industrial and academic partners experts in the maritime industry (laboratories, companies, startups, shipyards, etc.).
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
**You shall**:
Comply with Company IMS and all relevant maritime international rules and regulations;
Ensure all your duties are fulfilled in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies;
Propose QSSE continuous performance improvement plan which will be reported and reviewed on a periodical
basis;
Participated in all QSSE related key forums/meeting when appointed;
Participate in the Emergency Response Team activities when required.
**For Marine Investigation**:
Conduct investigations into key and high severity maritime related accidents on-board vessels and at sea;
Provide technical advice and assistance to DPAs and MSOs on maritime incident investigation analysis and recommendations;
Provide technical advice and assistance to Legal department on maritime related expertise as required;
Lead and maintain close co-operation between the QSSE department and the others department involved in the Maritime Safety Investigation process;
Safeguard and ensure that the defined Marine Investigation Process are strictly adhered to and practiced;
Alert the Senior Vice President of QSSE on persistent failures to safety procedures/processes or identified safety risks;
Study the internal audit reports and marine superintendent reports, and alert QSSE management on serious deviations;
Read nautical incident reports issued by the Flag State Investigation Administration. Study relevant cases and provide risk prevention recommendations or feedbacks to QSSE management and other departments when necessary.
Conduct quarterly check on post-investigation recommendations to ensure completion.
**For Crew Training**:
Identify training needs, develop concepts, and propose to QSSE management for consideration and approval.
Identify, establish and monitor partnerships with agencies or entities in the region for QSSE related training developments and collaborations;
Co-lead in the development of the QSSE training syllabus and curriculum with appointed partners and vendors;
Responsible in training management for vessels at sea, monitor training progress and identify improvements to training requirements;
Gather training feedbacks and ensure the execution and completion of the relevant proposals derived from the training sessions.
Review and circulate relevant feedbacks from maritime industry for review of QSSE training needs.
Participate in the Safety training program for the third-party companies and vessels.
**For Emergency Response Team Management**:
Co-lead in the development of the exercise/drill requirements with selected third-party company or organization;
Organize periodic drills and exercises with the selected third-party companies or organization.
Participate and support in Emergency response team activities for Crisis Information Manager when required.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Bachelor’s degree in Management or Senior Merchant Marine Officer;
Technical knowledge of the ship and company procedures;
Strong knowledge in Safety, security and environment knowledge (ISM, ISPS);
Fluent in English.
