Principal Software Engineer

About the role:
- We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead a team of product engineers in the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions at Blue Yonder.- The focus of this role is building AI agents that work alongside our customers helping them further optimize their supply chain operations.- As a key player in the Blue Yonder AI Innovation Studio, you will work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of Generative AI and machine learning in the supply chain and retail domains.What you will do:- Provide technical vision and direction for the engineers in your product team
- Partner closely with product managers & designers on roadmap and requirements
- Lead product engineering around complex, high-impact LLM-powered products
- Make critical architectural and design decisions
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and approaches
- Rapid prototyping of AI agents & gen AI experiences
- Integrate AI solutions with our existing product platform
- Identify and mitigate technical risks
- Ensure projects are delivered on time with high quality
- Stay on top of gen AI developments and experiment with cutting-edge techniques- What we are looking for:- Self-driven with the desire to take ownership and ability to work across the full stack
- Min 12-15+ years of software development experience, with a strong foundation in software engineering skills, design patterns, and building scalable systems is REQUIRED.
- 2-3+ years of engineering leadership
- Extensive expertise in Python. Optionally TypeScript experience, along with proficiency in front-end technologies like React.
- Proven track record of shipping products powered by LLMs, RAG systems, and/or AI agents is a plus
- Comfortability working in a startup environment embedded within an enterprise.
- Passion for pushing the boundaries of AI and a commitment to staying at the cutting edge of industry trends and technologies.This role is based out of our Paris office.
