Security Guard

**Position Details**:

- Work Year: 12 Months
- Work Hours: Morning Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, or Swing Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, or Graveyard Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs
- Minimum Hourly Rate*: $18.66/Hour - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in customer service or a related field required.
- One (1) year of work experience and/or training in law enforcement or security preferred.
- Possession of a guard card-license and approved registration with the State of Hawaii Board of Private Detectives & Guards; Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs Division (DCCA).
- If the incumbent does not have a current HI guard card-license, they will be required to obtain a one within six (6) months from entering the job.
- Current and valid Hawaii Driver’s License.
- First Aid, CPR, AED Certification required.
- If the incumbent does not have a current First Aid, CPR, AED Certification, they will be required to obtain one within six (6) months from entering the job.
- Knowledge of guard certification classroom instruction, including the passing of a written test and on-the-job training.
- Knowledge of campus protocols and procedures necessary to ensure public welfare and safety in our campus buildings and grounds.
- Knowledge, skill and proficient ability in the operation of radio communication equipment.
- Knowledge of various campus systems, but not limited to: Alarm Monitoring, Electronic Locks, Fire Alarms, Elevators, AC/Ventilation, Lighting and AV.
