ITER is a unique, first-of-a-kind project that aims to demonstrate the technical and scientific feasibility of fusion energy. Jacobs one of three partners making up the Consortium MOMENTUM (construction management-as-agent contractor) is project managing the construction and assembly of more than one million components in the world’s largest fusion reactor. As a construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include a balance of the plant and the Tokamak itself. **Job description**
Jacobs is recruiting a Graduate Construction Engineer to work on the ITER Project near Aix-en-Provence, France. The intern will join the TCC CMA project team directly reporting to the Project Delivery Manager (PDM).
He/she will support the execution of TCC Contract, in alignment with the Construction Management as Agent (CMA) role of the MOMENTUM organization.
He/she will get immersed in the TCC project management activities, where he/she will be given responsibility for increasingly complex tasks, depending on his/her skills and demonstrated capability.
He/She will be responsible for:
- Organization of meetings and writing of MOM
- Development and use of action lists, registers, and other project monitoring tools
- Gather and analyze data, and produce reports and presentations to support management decisions
- Support the resolution of issues, gathering data, and proposing solutions
- Drive progress, following up the closing of actions with different stakeholders
- Help Contractor and CMA team to implement Project processes and procedures
- Support the TCC0 Contract Return of Experience (REX) evaluation and the improvements’ implementation in TCC
- Lead quality improvement actions to increase efficiency within the project team
Please note the job offer would be based on a local French contract - this would not be an expatriate assignment.
