**Your future position..
**Your mission is to**:

- Lead and mentor a team of IoT engineers, providing technical guidance and coaching.
- Collaborate with product managers, the lab members, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and priorities.
- Architect, design, and implement scalable and maintainable IoT architectures and embedded systems - Including hardware, network and software.
- Utilize technologies to gather all the data we need to develop our cutting-edge analytics at Kpler - We are using a wide range of technologies from custom PCB to custom VM to be deployed for our clients/on our hardware.
- Drive best practices for code quality, testing, and performance optimisation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
- Serve as a technical leader and advocate for IoT engineering best practices across the organisation.

**It will be a match if you are or have**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on embedded system design and development.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript or Python with a deep understanding of IoT frameworks and libraries.
- Experience with protocols commonly used in IoT (e.g MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) and wireless communication technologies (e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRA, etc)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex technical challenges with creativity and pragmatism.
- Experience working in an agile development environment, with a focus on iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment

**Nice to have**
- Experience working with fleet-management tools (prefered balena)
- Experience working on maritime-related IoT/data
- Understanding of cloud platforms and experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
