**Job Description**:
This position in the Geoscience CGG research organization, will be responsible and accountable for developing, implementing, testing, and supporting new
algorithms to improve characterization of the subsurface.

As a imaging researcher, you will be responsible for the following activities:

- Develop algorithms to solve a specified geoscience problem.
- Validate the algorithms on synthetic and real data to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the proposed approaches.
- Support the porting of those algorithms on HPC infrastructure by providing algorithmic and mathematical expertise on them.
- Support rollout of new technologies through internal presentations and user support.
- Promote use of new technology to clients through scientific publications and presentations.
- Keep informed of internal requirements by building close relationships with the production teams.
- Develop knowledge by reading academic publications, attending technical presentations, workshops, conferences, seminars.

**Qualifications**:
Passion for coding and analyzing real data to deliver high‐end technical products. More precisely:

- Analytical and problem solving abilities with a great attention to detail.
- Coding skills, essential for this role, particularly C/C++ or FORTRAN.
- Effective communication & presentation skills, in order to interface with production and to share knowledge;
- High motivation to deal with real data, solve problems and deliver high end technological products;
- Knowledge of seismic processing/imaging, experience in wave propagation, inversion, experience in Machine learning or a strong signal processing background are a plus.

**Background**:
Solid math skills to abstract geoscience concepts with mathematical languages, whilst developing algorithms to solve geoscience problems.
**M.S. degree with at least 3 years of successful research experience or PhD, school of engineering with background in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering,**
**Geophysics or any other related technical degree.**

Solid practice of English ‐ both spoken and written.
