Corrosion & Electrochemistry Researcher

_As part of New Products Development program, our R&D department is looking for a Corrosion & Electrochemistry researcher. _
- Your contribution will be key to the success of several strategic R&D projects, especially in the framework of New Products development with a strong focus on High Performance grades. Your inputs will serve as real contribution to promote stainless steel offer, contributin to meet the challenges of integrating stainless steel grades in the automobile industry, integrating the durability of multi-material assemblies with regard to corrosion issues._
- You will also contribute to make the required development for others sectors such as High Performance grades._
- In this position, you will report to the Head of R&D Solutions Dpt. (N+1)._
- You will be based in Isbergues Research Center._

**Mission**:

- Contribute to meeting the challenges of integrating stainless steel grades in the automobile industry by integrating the durability of multi-material assemblies with regard to corrosion issues.

Develop Aperam’s expertise on galvanic corrosion and propose solutions to avoid it by:

- Developing the methodology
- Managing the corrosion database at the lab scale
- Extending the network and building partnerships on selected topics
- Attending conferences
- Transferring the knowhow to technicians through transversal management
- Define the R&D action plans and deliverables, in close collaboration with the commercial team and the R&D program managers.
- Structure the projects from a technical point of view, and negotiating needed resources.
- Execute the internal and outsourced technical action plans

**Your profile**:

- Strong knowledge of metallic materials (namely stainless steel grades) and their corrosion properties is required to quickly take over the position.
- The ability to steer external and transversal projects is mandatory, since open innovation and external sourcing are true needed values.
- Strong project management ability and capacity to work in matricial organization is an asset.
- People management skills are an asset.
- Excellent communication skills (both internal and external)
- Goal-oriented profile
- Proficient in English and French (mandatory)
- Education and training: _
- Engineering School / Master degree in **Material Science, Chemistry**:

- **OR**PhD (a strong asset)
