**Summary / Role Purpose**

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, negotiate technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations. Work independently within multi-disciplinary teams
- Interact with customers to understand their key business initiatives, product design needs and engineering design workflows; analyze how to address customers’ requirements using Ansys products and platform, articulate Ansys’ value proposition to Executive level audiences
- Lead project teams to create differentiating simulation solutions using the Ansys platform and products; deploy the solutions within customers’ design workflows
- Mentor junior engineers
- Participate in corporate initiatives to further enhance Ansys technology, processes and people skills
- Support Ansys field and digital marketing, author conference presentations
- Contribute to consulting services, conduct intermediate and/or advanced training classes

**Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience**
- Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace/Electrical/Industrial/Systems Engineering or related field
- Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8, MS+6, or PhD+3
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Track record of delivering exceptional customer outcomes and revenue impact
- Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects which are complex in nature, possesses a sense of urgency
- Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time
- Demonstrated skills in scripting/programming languages: Python, C/C++, Java, C#, etc.
- Demonstrated skills in workflow customization and automation
- Strong knowledge and experience with design of experiments and optimization
- Hands-on experience with Process Integration and Design Optimization platforms and software packages such as Ansys ModelCenter, Ansys optiSLang, or equivalent
- Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages
- Subject matter expert in one or more relevant disciplines within Ansys’ business and is/will be sought out for advice by other Ansys engineers
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering practices and product development to architect Systems Engineering workflows
- Working knowledge of digital transformation requirements and digital engineering solutions across the product lifecycle (MBSE, automation, digital thread, and digital twins)
- Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and translate these into engineering solution requirements and execution plan that delivers value and meets business goals.
- Experience with architecting and developing complex and multidisciplinary engineering solutions and deploying those solutions within customers’ engineering workflows
- Ability to interact effectively with senior business leaders and C-level executives

**Preferred Qualifications and Skills**
- Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+12, MS+10, or PhD+7
- Experience in industry, namely in Systems engineering, simulation and/or design processes
- Experience with the ModelCenter software strongly preferred
- Experience in practices of Systems Engineering, requirements engineering, systems architecture design, using systems modeling solutions, SysML modeling language or functional, logical modeling techniques
- Familiarity with API concepts
- Experience with system modeling and simulation tools (e.g. Ansys Twin Builder).
- Ability to introduce new concepts and novel solutions and their values to customer as made available in the Ansys technology portfolio
- Second spoken/written language
