Plant Project Engineer

The **Plant Project Engineer** is within the Continental Europe organization responsible for **organizing, coordinating, and implementation of capital projects** at one of our production locations. He or she is responsible for new as well as for** optimization of existing process** lines and installations.

He or she will also act as project engineer in medium and large project executed at the plant where the Plant Project Engineer is based, projects are planned in the yearly investment plan.

**MISSIONS**:

- Defines Project Charter, BOD and obtains a thorough understanding of the business objectives to be fulfilled.
- Design and calculate equipment and auxiliary installations
- Prepare project budget and REA.
- Selects, develops and oversees an effective team and allocates team members to project tasks in conjunction with management.
- Assigns work packages to project participants as required to ensure delivery of all essential project components.
- ** Prepare tender documents and select the best contractor, based on experience, quality and price**:

- ** Act as a safety ambassador, creating a safe workplace for McCain as well as contractor employees.**:

- ** Make sure installations are built according the (safety and food safety) standards and guidelines that are applicable in the region and within McCain.**:

- ** Have regular project team meetings to ensure project quality. Status is reported through meeting minutes and project workload reporting.**:

- Uses project schedule and work breakdown structure produced from the methodology tool to guide team in the implementation of the project.
- Manages project scope.
- Manages the execution of the project on a daily basis with regards to time, budget and quality.
- Ensures that project spending is following the projected forecast.
- Reviews and accepts deliverables at scheduled milestones.
- Prepares project status reports on a regular basis.
- Ensures that the project remains in control with the use of appropriate control tools, techniques and templates.
- Escalates project issues which cannot be resolved by the team to the Project Sponsor and/or Engineering Director for resolution.
- Reviews and accepts deliverables at scheduled milestones.
- Facilitates the resolution of project team issues affecting the success of the process.
- Ensure adherence to the project plan by all project participants and evaluates their performance.
- Reports project process to senior management.
- Mediates problems encountered by team members.
- Manages risk during all phases of the project.

**PROFILE**:

- **_Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering_**:

- **_5 years’ experience in related working environments_**:

- **_Experience in working with capital investment programs_**:

- **_Experience in working with project management systems and techniques_**:

- **_Experience with Windows, MS-office and MS-Project_**:

- **_Read and write English language_**
