- Reporting to the Procurement Operations Manager
- **Northern Continental Europe** the Buyer position is
- **based in France, ideally in Lyon**, and is a part of a team of Buyers providing Procurement Services across all the Air Products businesses in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany & France, supporting multiple Supply Chain requirements.
- The procurement team, based in Rotterdam Botlek, Hattingen, Diegem and Lyon, is responsible for managing all strategic and tactical activities related to the direct and indirect spend for all plants, depots and offices in the Northern Continent (Netherlands, Belgium, France & Germany).**As the Buyer France, you will**:

- Competitive bidding and buying in support of projects and/or defined commodities or business clients to ensure sustainable competitive advantage. Including negotiation and cost savings for specific commodities, coordinating supplier audits and continuous improvement.
- Actively participating in delivering the savings goals of the team.
- Contributing to RtP improvement initiatives e.g., eSourcing, eInvoicing.
- Providing SAP or outside SAP guidance to internal clients on executing transactions within the Procurement process and how to secure material supply and support services.
- Providing support for and to the Sourcing Specialists.
- Maintaining records of key supplier performance and progress of key/critical projects, records of most frequently used suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with global supply agreements.
- Training, dissemination and monitoring compliance with Procurement practices, processes, and systems.
- This role has 4 key areas of focus:_
- To secure the Supply of all materials and services, such that competitive advantage is derived in the marketplace, for all requirements in France across all business areas up to and including a value off € 100.000 yearly spend per vendor.
- Provide Procurement expertise and training as required to internal business clients.
- Recommend and participate in work process improvement projects.
- Transaction and administrative work within the function group as well support to the business.

**To be successful, you will have**:

- Multiple years of **experience in procurement**.
- Experience in **negotiations of purchasing terms and conditions**.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills. Self-starter, capable of taking ownership of issues and resolving them.
- Working in cross functional teams and Stakeholder/Relationship management.
- Taking initiatives and drive change.
- Fluent written and oral** French & English** language capabilities.
- Procurement within a **SAP** environment.
