Microgrid System Architect

As Microgrid System Architect you will own and drive the competitive technical development and costing of microgrid solutions within key targeted Industrial, Commercial and Utilities segments in EU market. This is an exciting opportunity for someone that is competitive and likes a challenge, as you will have an opportunity to develop best-in-class solutions based on the best available assets from GE PC and other GE Power and GE Renewable businesses as well as targeted external partners.

As Microgrid System Architect, you will work closely with Microgrid Business Development leaders and support them to accelerate the activity growth in a very fast-changing energy transition context driven by decarbonization of electricity and electrification of the world infrastructure.

Customer-focus, you will utilize your conceptual thinking and leverage a team of experts to quickly define, shape and quote the best Microgrid solution required to respond to customer inquiries and solve their challenges.

**Essential Responsibilities**:As Microgrid System Architect, you will:

- Design and execute specific strategies needed to break-in and grow share across untapped segments or regions
- Shape and craft value propositions for microgrid segments or regions.
- Work with other experts, provide the technical solutions integrating Energy Storage Systems (BESS, CESS, Flywheel, thermal storage ), power conditioning, balance of plant, power quality, grid automation (level 1 to 3), distributed energy resources (solar, wind, genset, aeroderivative turbines ), remote monitoring services, digital (APM and optimizers), cyber securityto meet customer requirements and main drivers (energy access, energy efficiency, energy security, reliability, resilience ) for inquiries received from business development leaders.
- Provide technical leadership when assessing opportunities upfront for feasibility.
- Identify & mitigate the technical risks involved & communicate to the business development team.
- Review customer specifications, understand customer drivers and environment and ensure offering satisfies customer requirements. Identify exceptions and/or required clarifications.
- Generate cost estimates for proposed solutions and established quoting limits. Revise proposals as necessary based on both customer and GE engineering feedbacks.
- Leverage SFDC to track customer activity, driving improved visibility. Comply with defined commercial processes.
- Support regional commercial operations on converting the technical proposal into a ‘ready to deliver’ commercial proposal.
- Track opportunity status.
- Collaborate on Sourcebook Articles/Technical Proposal Templates.
- Coordinate with sales force to make customer calls and presentations and participate in bid meetings and walk-through meetings with the customer as necessary.

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a commercial, engineering, or technical sales function

- Must be willing to travel
- Perform multitasking capabilities for handling more than one projects at a time
- Ability to work within a short cycle, occasionally high-pressure environment.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours as required,
- Willingness and ability to travel globally 30% of the time,

**Business Acumen**:

- Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a B2B environment
- Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses

**Technical Expertise**:

- Experience using SFDC (Salesforce) and TCS Tacton
- Experience in electrical grid code compliance
- Experience in grid forming inverter, controls or energy storage
