Due to our ongoing growth across the European Space sector, Serco are looking to hire a Cloud Platform Architect who will support the innovation of our EO cloud platform. **Main Responsibilities**As the Cloud Platform Architect, you will be involved from strategy development and implementation to ongoing optimisation and innovation of Earth Observation (EO) cloud platform. **Your tasks will be to**: - Select the appropriate cloud services and resources. - Configure the cloud infrastructure. - Implement security measures following guidelines. - Additionally, provide various stakeholders with expertise and guidance on EO cloud platform related matters.. As a "Platform Architect" you will be responsible for delivery and implementation of our cloud solutions to our customers and partners, this way help them digitalise and increase efficiency. This is a role with responsibility, autonomy, and the possibility to show proactivity **Example of concrete actions**: - Own the definition of the architecture of our platform, within a project team, by meeting the requirements of our customers and partners. - As a technical leader of the functional areas advise our customers/partners to optimize their business processes. - Manage the technical and functional meetings of the EO platform solution with the various stakeholders, whether they are external such as customers and/or partners, or internal such as the project team. - Intense focus on finding the right tools or partner, and ability to make trade-offs that require prioritising different competing demands. - 3 to 8 years’ experience in software engineering. - 2 to 4 years ‘experience working on cloud projects. - BS (Bac+3, Bac+4) in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS (Master, Bac+5) with 3 years’ experience - Cloud architect certification is a plus. - Experience in the space sector is appreciated, existing knowledge in Space Applications (e.g. Earth Observation, Remote Sensing, Navigation). - Strong analytical skills with proven ability to assess technological and industry trends, - Good knowledge of cloud micro-architecture platform using Kubernetes and Docker. - Experience in the use of public hyperscaler. - Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is appreciated. **Languages**: Fluency in English is mandatory (spoken and written). Knowledge of additional languages is a plus. **Personal skills**: ability to work in an international and multicultural environment; ability to work independently; a team player; respect of corporate values; high commitment.
