Every day Mars Incorporated takes thousands of decisions that are informed by laboratory data. It is essential that Mars Associates have access to laboratory data that is accurate, reliable and timely to ensure consumer and brand protection, provide competitive advantage and enable operational excellence.

The MGS Regional Laboratory is responsible for the delivery of microbiology and/or chemistry operational testing capability, laboratory governance and consultancy services for all segments of Mars Incorporated operating in their region. The main customers of the regional lab are Supply (manufacturing sites), Commercial and R&D functions.

Reporting to the Regional Lab Governance Manager, the Regional Laboratory Quality & Safety Coordinator is responsible for the implementation, management and continuous improvement of a Quality, Environment and Health & Safety Management System for the Regional Lab.

**What are we looking for?**:

- Experience of implementing or managing laboratory safety procedures and standards
- Good knowledge of ISO17025
- Experience in developing, deploying or implementing effective quality management systems
- Lead Auditor trained
- Knowledge in core processes of lab service delivery
- A recognized safety certification for risk assessment and management
- Good communication skills, both written and spoken **English and French**

**What will be your key responsibilities?**:
**Regional Laboratory Quality Management System**
- Develop and deploy the MGS Regional Lab Quality Management system (QMS), to ensure conformance to the Mars Quality Policy, Quality Management Process (QMP), Mars Quality Laboratory Standard (QLS) and ISO17025
- Operate, maintain and continuously improve the quality system in line with changing needs
- Manage metrology requirements in the lab
- Manage Proficiency Testing programs participation of the lab
- Lead documentation review for the lab
- Lead internal audit process for the lab
- Obtain/maintain ISO17025 accreditation of the lab for critical food safety parameters
- Train the Regional Lab Associates to the QMS of the lab
- Follow up non-conformities and CAPAs with Chemistry Lab Operations Manager
- Report on KPIs related to Quality

**Regional Laboratory Environment Health & Safety Management System**
- Develop and deploy the MGS Regional Lab Environment and Health & Safety (H&S) Management system
- Operate, maintain and continuously improve the safety management system in line with changing needs
- Ensure compliance to Mars Safety Standards
- Implement and ensure compliance to a risk assessment process
- Report on KPIs related to Health & Safety
- Coordinate incident investigation and reporting
- Perform regulatory surveillance for Environment and H&S
- Ensure the completion of regulatory controls
- Train the Regional Lab Associates to the Environment and H&S management system of the lab

**Governance of the regional network of laboratories**
- Act as lead auditor in the region for the Mars Quality Laboratory Standard
