About The Opportunity
As an
Associate Network Engineer
in the HWAN Delivery Team, eHealth NSW, you will play a key role in supporting and securing network infrastructure across NSW Health. You'll collaborate with internal teams, customers and vendors to deliver high-quality network solutions and resolve complex issues.

This role involves
configuring
and
managing
network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, out-of-band management) within a mixed-vendor environment (Cisco, Fortinet, CradlePoint, OpenGear) and performing network migrations, upgrades and decommissions. Occasional after-hours work may be required to support key initiatives.

In This Role You Will

  • Generate and apply configuration to network devices within a mixed-vendor environment
  • Create Network designs, complete technical handover checklists, change implementation plans and other artefacts required by the project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, eHealth NSW customers and third-party vendors to plan, test, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
  • Participate in planning meetings with eHealth NSW project managers to schedule changes, reviews and customer migrations.
  • Manage IP subnet allocations across the eHealth NSW WAN and LAN subnets for eHealth NSW managed network customers.
  • Adhere to Change Management process strictly.
  • Commitment to the Team's continuous improvement process, contributing ideas and identifying ways to improve systems and processes.
  • Ensure that network devices are monitored and that network documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Provide training if required to both technical and non-technical staff.

About You
You're a detail-oriented communicator with:

  • Cisco CCNA level certification (Routing & Switching) or equivalent experience
  • Exposure to other networking vendors (Fortinet, Cradlepoint) highly regarded
  • Intermediate knowledge of BGP routing and tunnelling protocols (GRE, IPSec)
  • Experience with IPv4 address management (DHCP, Infoblox)
  • Familiarity with network automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Python scripting)
  • Experience in managing tasks in ServiceNow and documenting work.
  • Exposure to Agile – Kanban way of working is an added advantage.
