We are looking for a
Software Development Manager
whose mission is to ensure team performance, deliver high-quality solutions within agreed timelines, and foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. This role guarantees compliance with development procedures and drives continuous improvement in processes, tools, and team capabilities.

This position is hands-on, requiring you to make technical contributions that enhance both team performance and outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Team Performance & Delivery

• Ensure the team meets project deadlines and delivers high-quality code
• Allocate resources and support to achieve company objectives
• Create an environment that promotes efficiency, collaboration, and well-being

Organization & Leadership

• Establish a clear framework and organization
• Define objectives and responsibilities aligned with individual strengths and company goals in close collaboration with project managers
• Encourage innovation and adoption of new methods relevant to medical device software development.

Quality & Compliance

• Guarantee adherence to the company's software development procedures.
• Define and enforce best practices for code quality, architecture, testing, and specifications.
• Participate in configuration management planning and make-or-buy decisions for software components.

Talent Management

• Lead performance reviews and maintain competency development plans.
• Identify skill gaps and implement individual training plans.
• Collaborate with HR and management for recruitment and skills development.

Communication & Team Engagement

• Act as the communication bridge between management and the team.
• Foster team spirit, mutual support, and alignment with company values
• Mobilize the team toward shared goals and maintain a positive work atmosphere.

Required Skills

• Experience as a Technical lead or mentor, with increasing responsibilities in large-scale projects.
• Embedded Systems Engineer or equivalent (master's degree) is a must
• Minimum 7-8 years of experience in embedded software development (preferably bare metal)
• Experience in complex and critical projects, preferably in a medical or highly regulated environment (aerospace, automotive, rail, etc.)
• Proficiency in C for low-level embedded systems (Clean Code, MISRA C).
• Solid experience in software architecture (Clean Architecture).
• Git for team collaboration and managing complex branches
• Experience with testing and static code analysis tools (e.g., Unity, Ceedling)
• Knowledge of embedded systems, debugging with JTAG
• Test automation (Jenkins) – a plus
• A good level of English would be a significant advantage
