Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Paris for an Implementing Partners Grants Management Specialist. The specialist will be responsible for evaluating and managing grants with implementing partners, ensuring compliance with UNEP's financial and accounting standards. Regular responsibilities include reviewing grant proposals, monitoring the implementation of funded programs, assessing partner performance, and providing technical guidance on reporting and budgetary processes. The role will also involve coordinating with various teams to optimize resource utilization and address challenges that arise during program execution.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in grant management, project coordination, and financial oversight
  • Understanding of financial and accounting standards, compliance procedures, and resource management
  • Strong analytical, report-writing, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and work in an international, multicultural environment
  • Familiarity with UN financial regulations and report auditing processes is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English; knowledge of French or additional UN languages is an asset
  • Experience in environmental or development programs, as well as a background in international organizations, is highly desirable
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, business administration, environmental studies, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are a plus
