Context

Baliston already has:

  • A production 
    BLE SDK
     (with a dedicated SDK team)
  • Existing apps:
  • Baliston Health
     (Flutter)
  • Baliston Connect
     (currently not Flutter, migration/interop to be defined)
  • Flutter developers
     working on the apps

We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to 
strengthen the architecture
, 
improve reliability
, and 
make SDK app integration smooth and predictable
.

What you'll doFlutter + Apps (in collaboration with our team)

  • Support Flutter architecture (state management, modularization, performance profiling, platform integration patterns).
  • Implement or review SDK integration in Flutter (platform channels/FFI where relevant, lifecycle, threading, error handling).
  • Contribute hands-on when needed: features, refactors, bug hunts, release support.

BLE + SDK (in collaboration with our team)

  • Improve and harden the existing 
    SDK
     (pairing/bonding, reconnection, state machines, background behavior, device quirks).
  • Own the 
    integration contract
     between SDK and apps (what's exposed, how it's consumed, how it's tested).

Cross-team technical leadership

  • Improve CI/CD, test strategy, QA diagnostics and observability (logs, crash analytics, reproducible bug reports).
  • Reduce integration friction through better documentation, samples, and tooling.
  • Mentor and elevate engineering standards through reviews, architecture decisions, and practical guidance.

What we're looking forMust-have

  • Strong experience with Flutter and working Knowledge of iOS/Android development.
  • Strong experience with 
    Kotlin
     and 
    Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM)
     (or deep Kotlin + shared mobile modules).
  • Proven experience shipping 
    BLE features in production
     on both platforms:

  • Experience integrating native/mobile SDKs into 
    Flutter
     apps (platform channels/FFI, lifecycle, threading).

  • Strong architecture skills: modularisation, API design, testing strategy, and maintainability.

Good to have

  • AWS
     knowledge (especially 
    Lambda
    ; plus API Gateway, CloudWatch, DynamoDB/S3 is a bonus).
  • Experience with
    NodeJS
    /
    TypeScript
    .
  • Experience with
    hardware
    protocols.
  • Experience guiding a migration path (n
    on-Flutter app toward Flutter
    , or shared SDK adoption strategy).

  • BLE reality check:
     you've shipped BLE to real users and debugged device-specific behavior across multiple phone models.
  • Senior behavior check:
     you can lead without being a manager. You define standards, review code, unblock others, and leave systems cleaner than you found them.
