Description
As the institutional representative of over 45 million businesses in more than 170 countries, the International Chamber of Commerce operates with a core mission to "make business work for everyone, every day, everywhere". We act as the primary voice of the real economy in a range of intergovernmental organisations – from the World Trade Organization to the UN climate process – championing the needs of local business in global decision making. The convening power of our global network enables us to set rules and standards that facilitate over $17 trillion dollars in trade each year – as well as providing tailored products and digital services that directly address the real challenges faced by businesses operating internationally. We also provide the world's premier private global dispute resolution services, leveraging ICC's unique independence, integrity, and expertise.
The role
We are seeking a Policy Lead – Trade on a fixed-term basis (12 months) to address the increasing complexity of global trade issues and policy demands. Reporting to the Head of Trade, you will drive the development and advocacy of key trade policy priorities—such as WTO reform, digital trade, industrial policy, and trade and climate—through the ICC Global Trade and Investment Policy Commission. You will ensure effective coordination with various ICC policy commissions, national committees, and the central Secretariat, consolidating business perspectives into actionable policy recommendations and supporting external advocacy within a fast-paced international environment.
You responsibilities will include:
- Leading the work of the ICC Global Trade and Investment Policy Commission in support of agreed policy deliverables;
- Developing high-quality materials and communications to keep commission members informed and engaged;
- Working closely with company experts to draft and produce distinctive, value-add content across trade-related files, ensuring coherence, credibility and relevance for external advocacy;
- Driving policy advocacy efforts linked to agreed trade priorities, including engagement with relevant international organisations, policymakers, and external stakeholders;
- Undertaking targeted outreach to scale corporate engagement in the work of the ICC Global Trade and Investment Commission in support of agreed policy deliverables;
- Preparing briefing notes, talking points, and speeches to support senior ICC representatives in key engagements;
- Providing regular and concise reporting on activities, progress in objectives, and outcomes.
What we offer
- A dynamic, collaborative and caring work environment in an international setting
- Opportunities to continually learn
- The chance to make a meaningful impact
- Partial work from home opportunities
