Finance Manager, France

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial management, reporting, and compliance activities for our French operations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and full compliance with local statutory and tax requirements across our telecoms infrastructure entities.

Operating as part of a geographically dispersed Finance team, the Finance Manager will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the French legal entities' financial results, managing external audits and tax filings, and supporting the Group's broader financial strategy.

Key responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Control

• Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements for French entities under French GAAP, reconciling to Group IFRS reporting.
• Deliver timely and accurate monthly reporting in line with Group deadlines under IFRS, partnering with our shared service centre.
• Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with both Group accounting policies and local regulatory standards.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings, and local accounting close activities.

Audit and Compliance

• Maintain co-operation with local accounting and tax advisors to ensure full compliance with French statutory requirements and reporting obligations.
• Ensure full compliance with local financial, legal, and regulatory obligations.
• Support Group audits and implement recommended improvements to processes and controls.

Tax and Regulatory Compliance

• Work closely with our Group Tax team, overseeing all aspects of French tax compliance, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes.
• Manage property tax and telecoms-related levy compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filings.  The Group has over 60 properties in France and network assets costing more than €0.5bn.
• Work closely with external tax advisors and Group Tax as needed.

Business Partnering and Group Collaboration

• Collaborate with Group Finance and other regional teams on consolidation, intercompany, and transfer pricing matters.
• Support Group initiatives such as automation, process optimisation, and finance transformation projects.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, including intercompany funding needs.

Individual Profile

Essential:

• Fully qualified accountant (e.g., DSCG, DEC, or equivalent professional qualification).
• Strong post-qualification experience in financial accounting and tax compliance, ideally within an accountancy practice or the telecoms, infrastructure, or technology sectors.
• Good technical understanding of French GAAP and working knowledge of IFRS.
• Proven experience managing statutory audits and working with Big Four or mid-size audit firms.
• Good understanding of telecoms-related assets, capital projects, and lease accounting.
• Good system and data-management skills.
• Fluent in French and English (both written and spoken).

Desirable:

• Experience in a multinational or shared-service finance environment.
• Familiarity with telecoms licence fees, or site-related taxation.
• Exposure to cross-border network infrastructure projects.
