Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Financial Controller to join our Property and Asset Management team, overseeing the financial performance of four retail assets under management on behalf of an international institutional landlord.
The successful candidate will play a central role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring across the portfolio, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and actionable insight.
This position requires a strong command of accounting and management accounting principles, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both local and international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for each retail asset in line with client and internal deadlines.
- Lead the budgeting and reforecasting processes, coordinating with property managers, asset managers, and external accountants.
- Monitor and analyze asset P&L statements, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing clear commentary and recommendations.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment of revenues, expenses, accruals, and capital expenditures in compliance with IFRS/local GAAP.
- Support the cash flow management, rent collection monitoring, and funding requirements of each property.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and data integrity.
- Contribute to strategic financial analysis to support decision-making and portfolio optimization.
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and external service providers as required.
- Act as a key financial contact for the international landlord, delivering high-quality and timely information.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, DSCG) is a plus.
- 3–7 years of experience in a financial control, accounting, or reporting role — ideally within real estate, asset management, or audit.
- Excellent understanding of accounting and management accounting principles.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel (pivot tables, financial models, reporting templates).
- Fluent English and French – both written and spoken.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the will to get things done.
- Curious, open-minded, and collaborative personality with strong interpersonal communication skills.
