The role:

As part of our new strategic projects, we are reinforcing our Toolchain team with a Compiler Engineer. You will join a highly skilled and dynamic group working at the core of our software stack, focusing on compiler design, optimization, and performance improvements to fully leverage our hardware architecture. Your mission will be to contribute to the development and optimization of our compiler toolchain, ensuring efficient translation from high-level languages to our hardware backends.

Key responsibilities:

  • The design, development, and maintenance of our compiler toolchain.

  • Optimization of code generation for performance and efficiency across multiple targets.

  • Implementation of new compiler features, optimizations, and language extensions.

  • Integration of the compiler with debugging, profiling, and simulation tools.

  • Performance analysis and benchmarking to drive architectural and software improvements.

  • Collaboration with hardware and software teams to ensure alignment of compiler and system evolution.

  • Support for internal teams using the compiler, including documentation and training.

Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in compiler technologies (LLVM, GCC, or similar).

  • Solid understanding of computer architecture and low-level code generation.

  • Experience with Risc-V processor architecture.

  • Experience in performance optimization and parallelization techniques.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages (Python, Bash).

Nice to have:

  • Experience with domain-specific compilers or accelerators.

  • Understanding of runtime systems and libraries.

  • Exposure to DevOps practices for building and testing compiler toolchains.

Soft Skills:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (BAC+5).

  • 5+ years of experience in compiler development or related domains.

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly.

  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.

  • Capacity to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Enthusiasm for innovation and continuous learning.
