Job Summary

Primary Location for the role to be based from PARIS. We will also consider Frankfurt.

As senior banker, the role focuses on the origination of ECA and MDB/DFIs supported transactions in the borrowers (corporate / financial institutions) in the Continent Europe (with particular emphasis on Eastern Europe such as Poland, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and opportunistically in Western Europe). The deliverables are to win mandates from borrower clients through proactive marketing exercises (proposals, pitches, response to RfPs, tracking the opportunities / constant follow ups).

Strategy

  • DAF team originate and execute ECAs and MDB/DFIs supported transactions globally. DAF Europe team is currently accelerating their efforts to originate more transactions in Europe. The role is to focus on the origination of the transactions as per the Job Summary. Execution of the transactions will be supported more from London and Frankfurt / Paris office colleagues.

Business

  • DAF team structures and arranges a long-term lending by leveraging credit cover from ECAs and MDB/DFIs. The business is conducted through DAF Underwriting Standard as well as other internal policies in compliance with the regulatory requirements.

  • The role requires a wide collaboration with the DAF team colleagues as well as other stakeholders, such as the relationship managers (GAMs), Risk, Legal, Compliance, Agency team, Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations and work in collaboration with risk and control partners. Contribute to continuous process improvement and sharing best practice.
  • The role requires to engage risk, legal and compliance teams as appropriate to escalate items relating to Risk Management. This is to ensure that origination is carried out within the Group's risk appetite and reputational and credit risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with other stakeholders.

Governance

  • Adherence to all SCB Group policies and relevant legislation covering credit risk, operational risk, and reputational risk among others.
  • Commitment to Group code of conduct
  • Ensure individual, and team as appropriate, have timely completion of all e-Learning, attestations and requests for information.
  • Resolves any audit issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Responsible for delivering 'effective governance';
  • Capability to challenge executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
