Internship : Cloud/Infrastructure Engineering

Position Overview
Outsight's SHIFT SaaS model is a way of providing our software in a highly flexible manner. The solution can be deployed across a wide range of infrastructures; from a single on-premise unit to large-scale multi-cluster deployments on cloud environments such as AWS. Currently, large installations often require significant manual setup and configuration on the on-premise side. However, for smaller-scale installations, the process can be almost fully automated. Our goal is to generalize this automation so that both cloud and on-premise infrastructures can benefit from end-to-end, reproducible deployments, enabling the SHIFT SaaS model to scale more easily and consistently. The intern will contribute to the design and development of an automation solution for provisioning and configuring cloud (AWS) and on-premise infrastructure resources. This project will involve building a framework using Terraform and Ansible to standardize infrastructure deployment, integrate hybrid components, and reduce manual intervention. This internship is ideal for a student who enjoys working close to infrastructure, networking, and automation, and who wants to gain hands-on experience in building cloud-native systems and hybrid SaaS deployment models.
Responsibilities
Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules using Terraform for AWS resources. Develop automation playbooks with Ansible to configure on-premise and hybrid systems. Contribute to a deployment framework for fully automated end-to-end provisioning of the SHIFT SaaS model. Collaborate with the team to integrate infrastructure automation with Kubernetes-based application deployments. Document the project architecture, implementation steps, and outcomes for future reference and reporting. Having an internship agreement issued by your school or university is mandatory.
Requirements for the role
Understanding of cloud computing concepts (AWS preferred). Familiarity with Terraform and IaC principles. Basic knowledge of Ansible or similar configuration management tools. Good foundation in networking and secure communication. Interest in automation, hybrid cloud, end-to-end security, and scalable architectures.
