About the Job :

As Scaleway accelerates its ambition to become Europe's leading hyperscaler and a strategic partner for enterprises and public institutions, we are looking for an experienced Communication & PR Manager to strengthen our media presence, elevate our reputation, and build impactful relationships across the European tech ecosystem.

This is not a junior role, we're looking for a communications expert who can operate with a high level of autonomy, manage strategic press relationships, craft exceptional messaging, and represent Scaleway in high-stakes situations. You should be as comfortable writing a press release in French or English as you are briefing journalists, preparing executives for interviews, or aligning with iliad Group on major announcements.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communication, you will work closely with our Senior Content Editor, Social Media Manager, Product Marketing team, and the iliad Group communication team. You will be a central player in shaping Scaleway's public narrative, especially around AI, cloud leadership, European sovereignty, and enterprise innovation.

Responsibilities :

Press & Media :

- Lead press and media relations: act as Scaleway's primary point of contact for journalists, manage inbound requests, pitch stories, coordinate interviews, and prepare executives for media engagements, together with IIiad's communication team

- Drive Scaleway's communication strategy: build and execute a clear roadmap aligned with our positioning in cloud, AI, sustainability, and European digital sovereignty.

- White high-impact communication materials: craft press releases, media briefs, Q&As and statements in French and English, ensuring clarity and consistency.

- Manage and grow our network of tech and business journalists: leverage your existing relationships and develop new ones across technology, cloud, AI, and enterprise media, in relationship with the iliad group communication team

- Source and manage PR agencies in key local countries starting with Italy

- Support product and innovation communications: work closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to translate complex cloud and AI topics into accessible, compelling media narratives

- Monitor and analyze media and industry sentiment: track press coverage, competitor narratives, analyst perspectives, and key cloud/AI trends to inform communication decisions.

Institutions & ecosystem :

- Lead institutional and ecosystem communications: manage relationships with French Tech, France Digitale, and other national or European ecosystem bodies to enhance Scaleway's visibility and influence.

- Coordinate public relationship efforts with EU partners: collaborate with the group public affairs team and the international teams to ensure consistent messaging across European initiatives.

Tech Partners :

- Develop and manage co-marketing plans with strategic tech partners: build joint communication initiatives with companies such as NVIDIA, Hugging Face, and other cloud/AI parnters.

- Amplify partner milestones: ensure joint announcements, product integrations, and technical achievements receive coordinated external visibility through press and shared channels.

Awards and visibility

- Drive Scaleway's participation in awards and rankings: identify relevant opportunities (innovation, cloud, AI, sustainability), coordinate submissions, and manage communication around recognitions.

- Leverage awards for additional visibility: activate communication opportunities offered by awarding bodies or industry associations.

Analyst relations

- Support analyst communications: relay Scaleway updates and positioning to analyst firms (Gartner, Forrester, IDC, etc.) and vice versa, together with the analyst team.

- Ensure presence in key industry evaluations: support contributions for quadrants, waves, and market guides, even without a dedicated research budget

Sensitive & incident communications

- Contribute to incident and crisis communication efforts: support the development of clear, timely, and aligned messaging during high-stakes or urgent situations, in coordination with leadership and iliad group communication team.

The Ideal candidate

- 7+ years of experience in Public Relations / Communications, ideally in tech, cloud, AI, or enterprise IT

- Proven track record in tech PR, with established relationships in the French media landscape; international contacts are a plus

- Exceptional writing skills in French and English (native-level in one, strong proficiency in the other). Italian is a strong plus

- Experience working directly with executives and managing high-stakes or sensitive communication topics

- Strong storytelling and narrative skills, with an ability to translate complex cloud/AI topics into clear, compelling messages

- Comfortable navigating fast-paced environments and multi-entity collaboration (experience with group structures is a plus)

- Autonomous, structured, and proactive, with strong stakeholder management skills

- Genuine interest in cloud, AI, European tech policy, and digital sovereignty
