The Central Digital organization is deploying Industry 4.0 technologies everywhere in the group to create our future world-class manufacturing processes. Within Central Digital, the Digital Solutions team focuses more specifically on hardware (sensors, cameras, PLC, RFID, VR/AR…).

Job Summary

In the frame of Constellium's digital strategy, the focus of this role is to contribute to the development of projects in the digital portfolio in close relation with our plants, especially in Issoire, Neuf-Brisach and Singen. This position within the Central Digital team would require around 30% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Work across organizational boundaries in collaborations with plants. Interact with production, maintenance, OT, IT, central functions.
  • Monitor developments in digital manufacturing to identify new opportunities; identify high value targets for digital solutions.
  • Validate and implement digital solutions in industrial environments with scalability in mind.
  • Implement digital best practices and core solutions.
  • Share results within the digital network (training, BPC, face-to-face meetings…).
  • Contribute to the following projects:

o Traceability of scrap material, work in progress, finished goods… with digital solutions (RFID, barcodes, cameras).

o Data acquisition from the sensor to the cloud and data visualization.

  • Select external suppliers and software/hardware solutions.
  • Track progress of projects to meet technical objectives, cost and schedule targets.
  • Document and communicate progress regularly, including presentations to high level management and other non-specialists.

Qualifications

  • A preferred engineering degree in a relevant discipline or proven experience is necessary (industrial engineering, automation, computer science).
  • 2-4 years of work experience related to digital technologies or activities in the industry.
  • Experience with the capture and validation of sensor data from industrial equipment.
  • Sensors, Automation (PLC), Field bus protocols (IO-Link, EtherNet IP, …).
  • Node-RED, MQTT, LoRa, Grafana, REST API.
  • Python programming, SQL, time series database.
  • Optical Character Recognition.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills.
  • Autonomy and strong relationship building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Location

The role is based at our C-TEC facility in Voreppe, France.
