Your Mission

As Senior IT & Systems Engineer, you will play a foundational role in building, securing, and scaling the internal technical backbone of the company. You will co-own, with the CTO, the design and operation of our IT, systems, and security stack, ensuring it remains robust, secure, and scalable as the company grows rapidly.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the intersection of IT operations, Linux systems administration, cloud infrastructure, automation, and security. You will be responsible for enabling the team to work efficiently and safely, while anticipating future needs in a fast-moving, hardware- and robotics-heavy environment.

Key responsibilities :

  • Own the
    procurement, setup, configuration, and maintenance
    of our internal IT and systems stack (devices, tools, services), with a strong focus on
    reliability, security, and long-term scalability
  • Design and implement
    centralized administration of Linux workstations
    , including identity management, access control, monitoring, and baseline security hardening
  • Build and maintain
    clean, automated onboarding and offboarding processes
    (accounts, devices, access, VPN, cloud, internal tools) to support rapid team growth
  • Co-own and continuously improve our
    security posture
    , from identity and device security to network segmentation and access controls
  • Design
    secure and pragmatic network and access patterns
    for humans, machines, and robots, including lab environments and untrusted robotic hardware
  • Operate and improve our
    device management stack
    (MDM, disk encryption, compliance policies) across macOS, Linux, Windows, and other devices
  • Automate internal processes and tooling (using Python, APIs, infrastructure-as-code, scripting) to reduce manual work and operational risk
  • Help administer and secure our
    cloud environments
    used for training clusters, data processing, storage, and backups
  • Assist the team with
    day-to-day troubleshooting
    , debugging, and systems improvements, remaining approachable and effective
  • Build and maintain
    clear internal documentation
    for tools, processes, and operational best practices to ensure continuity and resilience

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of experience
    in IT, systems, or infrastructure roles, with strong hands-on ownership in small or fast-growing organizations
  • Excellent knowledge of
    Linux / Unix environments
    , with proven experience as a
    systems administrator
  • Solid experience managing
    identity, access, and device fleets
    in modern organizations (SAML, SCIM, MDM, VPN, user lifecycle)
  • Familiarity with
    cloud platforms
    , including IAM, compute, storage, and security fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to
    design secure yet pragmatic systems
    , balancing best practices with startup velocity
  • Interest and experience in
    cybersecurity
    (identity, endpoint security, network segmentation, monitoring); deep expertise is a plus but curiosity and rigor are essential
  • Comfortable working in a
    hands-on, fast-paced startup environment
    , setting up processes from scratch and iterating as the company grows
  • Autonomous, rigorous, and execution-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Nerdy (in the best sense), technically curious, and
    easy to work with
  • Strong interest in technology broadly (AI, robotics, systems, security)
  • Bonus :
