Terabase Energy is a well-funded scale-up headquartered in Berkeley, California, with several other offices around the world, with the most recent one being launched in Paris.
Our Paris office will host our future core R&D team in charge of the development of our flagship product, Construct. Construct is a B2B SaaS construction management and quality control platform designed from the ground up for utility-scale solar projects. By combining GIS, AI/ML, IoT, and mobile technologies, the solution drives major improvements in safety, quality, cost, and schedule for the solar industry. Construct has supported more than 16+ GW of projects from leading owners and EPCs.
Scope of Work (Digital Twin – Backend)
During your internship, you will contribute to the Python backend systems that underpin Terabase's Digital Twin—our core representation of solar project design and construction state, used by Construct to drive workflows, quality control, and field execution.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Designing and implementing backend services and APIs in Python
- Developing and maintaining data pipelines that ingest and validate project data (GIS layers, as-built updates, field observations, IoT signals)
- Working with geospatial and construction domain models to power the Digital Twin
- Improving performance, reliability, testing, and observability of our services
- Collaborating with product and frontend teams to deliver end-to-end features
Tools & Technologies
Python, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, testing frameworks, and (depending on the project) geospatial and mapping tooling.
What We're Looking For
- Strong fundamentals in Python and backend engineering
- Comfort with software design, APIs, and databases
- Curiosity for real-world data (construction workflows, geospatial systems, etc.)
- Ability to collaborate, learn quickly, and communicate clearly in a fast-moving team environment
