We are hiring highly skilled Electrical Source Inspectors with IPC expertise to support the inspection of electronic assemblies, harnesses, and circuit board products for aerospace and defence customers. Support will be required in France and Western Europe and the Nordics.
This role would suit someone resident in France and willing to travel to different suppliers as required. Initially support would be approximately one day per week, increasing to potentially full-time as the project continues.
This is a contract role for an Independent Contractor / Freelance Worker who has already holds any necessary work visas.
Responsibilities
- Inspect electronic components, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), harnesses, and wiring according to IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, etc.).
- Verify workmanship, soldering, and assembly against aerospace and defence requirements.
- Review supplier quality records and certify product conformity before shipment.
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are tracked.
- Provide technical support to suppliers to help resolve recurring issues.
- Deliver timely inspection reports and maintain traceable records.
Qualifications
- Have a minimum of 7 years quality and/or engineering expertise in the aerospace and defence industries.
- Proven background in mechanical inspection for aerospace, defence, or similar critical industries.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace specifications.
- Proficiency with measurement tools (CMM, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Experience in welding inspection, ideally holding CWI certification.
- Familiarity with NADCAP processes is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region.
