Location: France or wider Europe (flexible)

About the Role
My client is a leading consultancy driving the energy transition across Europe. They support a broad range of stakeholders, from developers, producers, corporate energy buyers, utilities, investors, and aggregators, on projects that sit at the crossroads of renewable energy, storage, and energy markets.

They are seeking a Director to lead and grow their Power, BESS & PPA advisory practice. This is a strategic senior leadership role focused on business development, project delivery, and team management across high-impact, complex energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Strategic Development

  • Drive business growth across France and selected European markets.

  • Engage with key players: large corporate consumers, project developers, storage and hybrid operators, utilities, investors, and lenders.

  • Promote existing services and develop new advisory offerings tailored to market needs.

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams on offers and positioning.

Project Leadership & Advisory Work

  • Oversee delivery of strategic and technical consulting projects related to:

    • Renewable, hybrid and storage project structuring and financing (e.g. solar, wind, BESS, hydrogen, biogas);

    • Short-, medium-, and long-term procurement strategies and flexibility management;

    • Energy pricing, aggregation, market design, and regulatory frameworks;

    • Quantitative modelling (financial models, supply mix, etc.);

    • Contract structuring, negotiation, and market consultation processes.

Team Management

  • Lead a team of experienced consultants, providing both strategic direction and hands-on technical support.

  • Collaborate with internal teams across technical asset management, project development, and M&A advisory.

Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with specialist providers, such as legal advisors, data analysts, and project developers in the renewable and storage sectors.

What We're Looking For

Experience
7–10 years' experience in one or more of the following:

  • Energy markets (including system services, pricing, and risk management);

  • Energy storage and flexibility;

  • Development or financing of renewable energy projects;

  • Regulatory or contractual expertise in power markets;

  • Energy supply or aggregation.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong commercial mindset and track record of growing a consulting practice;

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and manage technical teams;

  • Excellent communication in both French and English;

  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and strong delivery focus;

  • Rigorous, analytical, and adaptable in fast-evolving markets.
